Cleveland Leadership Center Board of Trustees Names Marc Byrnes as New Chair, Announces New Board Members

CLEVELAND, Ohio, July 1, 2010 --The Cleveland Leadership Center today announced the appointment of five new members to its Board of Trustees as well as the appointment of Marc Byrnes as Board Chair.

Mr. Byrnes, Chairman and CEO of Oswald Companies, replaces Tom Stevens, Vice Chair and Chief Administrator of KeyCorp as Chair of the Cleveland Leadership Center Board of Trustees. Mr. Byrnes has spent two years as Vice Chair of the Leadership Center Board and has been active on the Compensation, Executive, Governance, Steering and Strategic Planning Committees of the Board. Interim President and CEO of the Leadership Center, Marianne Crosley, says, “Thanks to the leadership of Tom Stevens, Marc takes the reigns of the organization at a very exciting time. Demand for our programs has steadily increased, which allows us to educate more civic leaders and deploy them into the community to make use of their training and address the region’s most critical civic issues. We look forward to Marc’s leadership as we continue to advance the mission of the Cleveland Leadership Center.”

Mr. Byrnes was the founder and CEO of the Marc S. Byrnes and Associates Agency Inc. and merged with the James B. Oswald Company in 1987. Mr. Byrnes attended Williams College where he received his BA in History and Economics in 1976. He has been a member of the American College of Chartered Financial Consultants since 1977.

A fixture in the civic community, Mr. Byrnes has served as a member of the Alzheimer’s Association Board; Executive Committee and Risk Management Committee Member of the Bellefaire JCB Board of Directors; Executive Committee Member of the Fifty Club Board; Development Committee Member of the JCF Board of Trustees; Advisory Board Member of the Learning Disabilities Association; Vice President and Executive and Development Committee Member of the University School Board of Trustees; Donor Relations Chair, Executive Committee, Resource Development and Strategic Planning Committee Member of United Way of Greater Cleveland. Additionally, he has served on the MAI Wealth Advisory Board, Public Square Partners; the Tailwind Capital Advisory Board; and the US Bank Advisory Board.

The Cleveland Leadership Center Board of Trustees is also pleased to welcome the following individuals as new members: Ms. Kristen Baird Adams, Sr. Vice President, Director of Client and Community Relations, PNC; Ms. Ann Killian, Vice President, Human Resources, Ferro Corporation; Mr. Edward Largent, Group Administration Leader, Westfield Group; Mr. Louis Schneeberger, Chief Financial Officer, Panther Expedited Services; and Dr. Anthony Stallion, Executive Director Professional Staff, Diversity and Chief Community Relations & Diversity Officer, The Cleveland Clinic.
