You may already know about the approach to the distribution of the vaccine [phases] and we have shared the important links below with details on how eligible people are able to schedule their vaccine. Also included is an extensive Frequently Asked Questions on the vaccine itself. We know employers are contemplating how to mandate or incentivize the vaccine and the regulatory guidelines are still in flux and not finalized by either the Federal or State legislatures.

A recent Oswald webinar highlighted several recommendations for employers as the vaccination schedules pick up momentum.

  • This is the time to review the Employee Handbook and ensure there is a policy in place regarding COVID-19 protocols. Click HERE for a COVID-19 Vaccination Policy Questionnaire.
  • Continue to recommend good health practices of masking, social distancing and hand washing.
  • While mandating the vaccine is allowable by the current regulations, a recommendation to educate and encourage employees may be the best course of action until further guidance is introduced for employers.
  • If considering an incentive for the vaccine, a recommendation is to follow a de minimis definition of value <$50.
