Insurance Industry Alert: Mail Delays

Over the last few months, there has been significant mail delays and the insurance industry has not been untouched by this slowdown.

According to NPR, the U.S. Postal Service said it faces “unprecedented volume increases and limited employee availability due to the impacts of COVID-19.”

Many are experiencing longer than normal delivery times both with the mailing of invoices to clients, and with the receipt of payments from clients to the insurance carriers.

How does this affect you?

  • Invoices may be late in arriving to your business
  • If you mail your payment, the check may not arrive before your due date. This could lead the policy to cancel for non-payment of premium.

If you have received an invoice, please consider paying online (vs. mailing a check), using ACH payments or by calling the carrier directly for payment to avoid a delay in your payment being processed.
