|Robert J. Klonk is Chief Executive Officer of Oswald Companies, one of the nation’s largest privately held and employee-owned, insurance brokerage and risk management consulting firms.
Klonk has more than 30 years of industry experience, previously serving as Oswald’s Director of Group Benefits and President, before assuming the duties of Chief Executive Officer in 2013.
Throughout his tenure he has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the advancement and sustainability of the insurance industry at-large, and specifically as an advocate for the critical role of the independent broker and advisor. He currently serves as a board member of Assurex Global, an exclusive Partnership of the most prominent independent agents and brokers in the world.
Klonk currently serves as secretary of the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers (CIAB), with additional service as a board member (2009-Present), in addition to serving as past chairman of The Council of Employee Benefits Executives in Washington D.C., and Council PAC, a Political Action Committee that serves the broker community and employers.
Built on a solid history of developing and implementing breakthrough solutions to meet both the current and future needs of employers, Klonk is a prominent thought leader in the areas of employee benefits, insurance and health care reform. As a mark of his success and visionary approach, in 2013, Klonk was recognized as one of the Top 100 “Insurance Industry Game Changers,” by Leader’s Edge Magazine and CIAB, honoring the most influential industry leaders of the past century.
In addition, he exemplifies Oswald’s mission of “Commitment to Community,” serving as chairman of the Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) and a board member of The Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, Business Volunteers Unlimited and the Cleveland Leadership Center, among various board appointments and leadership positions he has held with nonprofits throughout his career.
