In partnership with the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, the Rust-Oleum Championship is Cleveland’s only PGA Tour event and has an estimated economic impact to the Cleveland community in excess of $6 million. The tournament will be contested June 8-14, 2015, at Lakewood Country Club in Westlake, Ohio; the only original design of renowned golf course designer A.W. Tillinghast in Ohio.
The Championship will feature 156 professional golfers playing in a four day, 72 hole stroke play event. Playing for a $600,000 purse. Every year, 50 players from the Web.com Tour graduate to the PGA TOUR for the following season. Proceeds from the event will benefit Cleveland Clinic Children’s.
The PGA Tour is committed to supporting the communities where it plays and Cleveland is no exception. Charitable proceeds of the tournament will support the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital. Cleveland Clinic Children’s is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a top children’s hospital. Other Cleveland-based charities, like Habitat for Humanity, First Tee of Cleveland, and the West Side Catholic Center, will also share the tournament proceeds.
Oswald Companies is proud to sponsor the Championship and its week of events, including the Founder’s Pro-Am, Tuesday, June 9, at Westwood Country Club, presented by Oswald.
“Philanthropy is a core value that Oswald and the Rust-Oleum Championship share,” said Robert J. Klonk, Chief Executive Officer, Oswald Companies. “As a continued sign of our commitment to the Northeast Ohio Region we are thrilled to support this premier sporting and community event.”
Round one of the tournament will begin on Thurs., June 11 and will conclude on Sun., June 14. Find more information and ticket information by visiting http://rustoleumchampionship.com/
