Ohio’s new anti-indemnity law provides more protection for architects and engineers working on public projects with a public entity.

Effective March 14, 2023, the law limits the indemnification provisions that public entities can include in contracts with design professionals on public improvement projects. These provisions previously were far-reaching and sometimes held the public entity harmless, regardless of the level of responsibility assumed by the A&E firm.

For more information on this law and how it works, read the Weston Hurd LLP bulletin.
