Oswald Companies has received the annual Medical Mutual Pillar Award for Community Service, presented by Smart Business Network. Now in its 26th year, the award honors companies of all sizes for their outstanding contributions to the communities where they do business.

This year, Oswald was honored in all three cities where the award is presented – Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio.

“For 131 years, Oswald has prided itself on bringing to life its core value of Commitment to Community by taking care of those around us,” Oswald President Jessica Jung said. “We are honored to be awarded for our efforts and inspired to continue to serve.”

The Cincinnati team was chosen for its support of charities such as United Way’s Backpacks for Success, the University of Cincinnati’s Walk Ahead for Brain Tumor discoveries, and Lighthouse Youth and Family Services. They provide funding, items of need and volunteerism throughout the year.

In Cleveland, Eddie Taylor, president of Taylor Oswald, was honored for his work in the community. As a minority risk management firm, Taylor Oswald has an inherent belief in equity and embraces its differences. Eddie Taylor currently is chair of the Cuyahoga County Citizens’ Advisory Council on Equity and University Hospitals Medical Center.

He is a board member for the Burton D. Morgan Foundation, Greater Cleveland Partnership, the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, among others.

Oswald’s Central Ohio office was chosen for its significant contribution to a long list of nonprofits in the region. Oswald Columbus provides financial and volunteer support for Volunteers of America Operation Backpack, holiday Adopt-a-Family events, the Family First Recovery Center, United Way Central Ohio, Lower Lights Christian Health Center, Mid-Ohio Foodbank, YWCA Columbus, Boys & Girls Clubs Central Ohio, the Childhood League Center and the Second and Seven Foundation.

Oswald provides an annual Day of Caring to each employee, giving them paid time off to volunteer in the community for a charitable organization of their choice.
