Building Healthier Communities: SparkColumbus Fit City Challenge 2020 Recap

Alison Crowe and Tessa Pekarcik November 12, 2020

The SparkCities initiative took off in its first year in Columbus as Oswald Companies’ participated in the 2020 SparkColumbus Fit City Challenge. Out of the six participating cities, Columbus had the most companies register with a total of 112 companies and nearly 1,000 employees.

Our clients were thrilled to see their names on the leaderboards and compete for the first-place prize, a commercial to be featured on local news stations in Columbus. Many clients were active in the promotion of the challenge on social media and even mentioned that the challenge was “just what we needed” during COVID-19 to keep physical and mental health top of mind.

In addition, several of our clients were recipients of some of the fantastic prizes available to the SparkColumbus participants, including a year’s worth of Vionic shoes, subscriptions to YogaIs, a yoga-streaming subscription, and gift certificates for RYU clothing brands. It’s been a joy to provide uplifting news and opportunities to clients during a global pandemic.

Here’s what they have to say:

“We officially finished strong as the 2nd place ‘Large Company’ winner in Columbus! WOWZERS! What a strong showing by our Crew! A BIG THANK YOU to our Oswald Partners for introducing this wellness challenge to our Company!” -Amy Malone, Raising Canes Ohio Unlimited.

“Providing a fun, healthy competition to our clients is something Oswald and Spark360 are proud to do. The mission of Spark360 is to spark people and organizations to reach goals they never thought possible and this challenge does exactly that. It is an opportunity to provide something positive for Oswald clients and their employees, engage in friendly competition, and get people moving.” -Allison Crowe, Health Management Consultant at Oswald Companies.

RiteRug FlooringRiteRug Flooring even designed their very own team t-shirts as winning company in the Large Company Category.

Congratulations to all the 2020 SparkOhio Winners!

“This is just the start of programming like this as Spark360 Challenges will now start happening year-round, offering consistent and engaging ways for organizations to support the wellness of their staff!” –Jonathan Sadlier, VP, Market Leader, Central Ohio at Oswald Companies.
