CLEVELAND – Sept. 24, 2018 – Oswald Companies, one of the nation’s largest independent, employee-owned insurance companies, celebrated its 125th year of business by giving back to area nonprofits who serve Northeast Ohio.
On the evening of Sept. 22, 2018, Oswald welcomed clients, partners and civic leaders for its “Community in Lights” celebration at the Downtown Cleveland Hilton. Among the nonprofit organizations that were showcased and presented with grants from Oswald Companies’ foundation that evening were: Child Guidance & Family Solutions, Community of Hope, Emerald Development & Economic Network (EDEN), Esperanza, Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland, Open Doors Academy, The Michael Pender Memorial Foundation, The Society for Handicapped Citizens – ARC of Medina County, The Otis Moss, Jr. and Olivet Community Health & Wellness Center, West Side Catholic Center, and Vocational Guidance Services.
“Commitment to community is the core value that bridges the generations of Oswald Companies, past, present, and future, and our employee-owners give back in countless ways throughout the year,” said Robert J. Klonk, Chief Executive Officer, Oswald Companies. “The organizations selected for our ‘Community in Lights’ program serve the critical needs of youth, families, and individuals throughout Northeast Ohio, and we can’t thank them enough for helping to create stronger futures for the residents of our region.”
In August, the company hosted an internal anniversary celebration for its employee-owners featuring the flavors of many of its hospitality clients. The event also highlighted a special company-wide giving campaign in honor of its anniversary, where Oswald pledged $125 to employees’ charities of their choosing, resulting in more than $40,000 in donations spread throughout its seven branch communities.
Both programs were in addition to Oswald’s annual charitable giving and community services campaigns.
Oswald also recently marked the five-year anniversary of the establishment of Oswald Centre at 1100 Superior Avenue where the firm has grown to occupy 96,900 square feet on four floors, including the first floor community Conference Centre, which more than 100 nonprofits have utilized free of charge since its inception.
“In response to our growing client needs, we’ve created more than 150 jobs in the last five years, both at our Cleveland headquarters and thriving branch market offices, resulting in major expansions and new career path opportunities,” said David C. Jacobs, President and Chief Operating Officer, Oswald Companies. “We will continue to celebrate our growth, diversity, and commitment to our clients and community as they evolve.”
